Mr Desai chaired the meeting, Minutes of previous meeting discussed and approved.
Online Services Update
Practice currently has contractual obligation from CCG (clinical Commissioning Group) target 10% of patients using the online service by the end of March 2017, The practice currently has 5% of patients who have signed up. Posters displayed, also advertised on website, well TV to promote uptake. New patients that register with the practice will be signed up automatically.
New service being implemented across Birmingham, Sandwell which will allow the doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals working in secondary care to view information about the patient’s record with the patient consent.
5% of patients signed up, practice needs to have about 300 more patients signed up by March. Patients to be encouraged to use service to book appointments, order prescriptions etc, Group informed that a new facility for patients will be accessible in a years’ time for patients to update their record i.e smoking status etc, have access to their blood test results, and brief summary, also be able to view letters.
Friends & Family Update
Update given on the Friends & family figures from April 2016 – November 2016 majority of the patients were happy with the practice and would recommend to others. Group suggested that it would be a good idea to view other practice Friends & Family data for comparison.
My GP App
New mobile phone app pilot which practice has signed up to. Patients will be able to manage their appointments in a more convenient way, receive reminders; cancel appointments on their phone at their fingertips. Patients will receive an SMS (text) message with a link to download the app free on their smartphone.
New Staff at Practice
Group informed that new locum staff, Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant had been employed at the practice.
Diabetic clinic run twice a month By Jenny
Rachel the reception had left, additional hours were given to Sameena
Mr Harris raised that he was unable to order his repeat drugs via the reception on the phone and was informed that he needed to contact the chemist. Prescription protocol discussed for ordering medication. Medication could also be ordered
Group informed that CCG were doing a waste campaign Audit and whether pharmacies should stop ordering drugs on the patients behalf
EPS discussed patients informed that prescriptions can be electronically sent to a nominated pharmacy of their choice
Group voted to be called Patient Participation Group instead of Patient Representative Group.
